Trade Mark Rights are territorial in nature i.e. a trade mark registration obtained in India is valid only within the geographical boundaries of India. Rights accorded by an Indian Trade Mark Registration do not extend to other countries of the world.
Further, it may be noted that there is no International Trade Mark Registration valid for all the countries of the world. Therefore, it is necessary to apply separately in the home country as well as other countries of interest.
